Meet The Faculty

Poulami Banerjee Das is an Associate Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University. With over 8 years of professional experience in the Urban Planning Advisory Sector and more than 10 years of teaching experience, she specializes in urban reforms, infrastructure projects, and academic consulting. Prof. Banerjee Das holds a B. Arch from IIEST, Shibpur, and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from IIT Roorkee. She is an active member of the Institute of Town Planners (ITPI) and is registered with the Council of Architecture (CoA).

Sandipan Sinha is an Associate Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University, with a background in architecture and construction management. With 5 years of professional experience in residential and industrial projects and 8 years in academia, he brings expertise in design coordination, urban design, GIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, and construction management. Prof. Sinha is registered with the Council of Architecture (CoA) and the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA).

Dr. Das has 12 years of Teaching experience. His area of research is based on parametric study of Urban Transformations related to Mass Rapid Transit System and Urban Developments, especially in the Core Areas of a City, from an Urban Design viewpoint. He has presented papers in conferences, published papers in peer reviewed journals, both at national and at international levels.

Ar. Soumyadeep Dutta is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. With a background in B. Arch from DIT University and an M. Arch in Urban Design from Jadavpur University, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Jadavpur University. His professional experience includes significant contributions to large-scale urban infrastructure projects nationally, collaborating with entities like the Ministry of Railways, Port Trust, Ministry of Power, and Smart Cities. In academia, he brings over 3 years of teaching experience across various architecture disciplines and has authored numerous research papers focusing on Urban Transformation, Urban Placemaking, and Human Cognition.

Piyali Guhathakurta is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University (SNU). With over 15 years of experience in architectural and interior design, she specializes in large-scale commercial and educational projects, emphasizing green building initiatives and Smart City developments.

Abhirup Chanda is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University (SNU), specializing in Urban Design. With a background in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and a Master of Architecture (M.Arch), he brings over 5 years of professional experience in architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. Abhirup has successfully managed numerous landscape projects for residential and commercial spaces. He is committed to nurturing architectural talent and contributing to innovative design practices at SNU.

Abhijit Basak is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University. With a background in Architecture from Jadavpur University and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from IIEST Shibpur, he brings over 7 years of multidisciplinary professional experience. His expertise spans Architecture, Interior Design, and 3D Printed Models. Abhijit has also served as a Visiting Faculty in various colleges, specializing in Architecture Design, Model-making, and Computer Applications.

Parikhit Biswas has completed his Bachelors in Architecture (2014) and Master of Urban and Regional Planning (2016) from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur. Currently he is pursuing PhD from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Within his career tenure, he have been involved with various architecture firm, i.e. Sumit Maity Architects New Delhi, Maheswari Associates Kolkata etc. Within the academic domain, previously he served the Sanaka Group of Institutions, Durgapur as an Assistant professor. His research interest includes urban economics, urban management, planning, and city rejuvenation strategy.
