ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Dr. Ipsita Shee is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to both the academic and professional realms. With a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Jadavpur University, a Master's in City Planning from IIT Kharagpur, and currently pursuing a Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, her academic journey is complemented by extensive practical experience in the development sector.
Prof. Shee has over 6 years of experience in the development sector, specializing in consulting, urban reforms, infrastructure advisory, and urban policy. She has played a pivotal role in projects spanning urban infrastructure, affordable housing, real estate, master planning, architecture, design, MSME cluster development, and various flagship urban missions of the Government of India, including the Smart City Mission. Her on-the-ground experience includes collaborations with municipal agencies and state governments across India, contributing to sustainable urban development and policy implementation.
In academia, Prof. Shee has over 4 years of teaching experience in the architecture and planning domains. She imparts her knowledge and practical insights to students, fostering a deep understanding of urban planning, architecture, and sustainable development practices.
Prof. Shee is an active member of the Institute of Town Planners (ITPI), India, the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), and is registered with the Council of Architecture (CoA), ensuring her continued engagement with professional standards and practices in the field of architecture and urban planning.
